Ed Night: An Aesthetic
Pleasance Bunker Two: 1 – 26th August: 9.15pm
Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer – Nominee 2017
Last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee Ed Night brings his brand-new show An Aesthetic to the Pleasance Bunker Two during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The hilariously astute Ed Night is bringing his wise-beyond-his-years comedy back and this year he is tackling Generation Z, the future and responsibility as well as expanding on the themes of last year’s show. Ed’s not one to shy away from tough topics but lucky he takes them on armed with his impeccable wit.
Having only played his first gig in February 2015, Ed Night went on to become a finalist in the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition just six months later. Since then, he has been a regular feature in some of the UK’s top comedy clubs and quickly garnered a reputation of one of the most exciting new performers on the circuit. In 2016, he came second in the Piccadilly New Comedian of the Year competition and has done even better in 2017 by being nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award and the Edinburgh Comedy Newcomer Award with Anthem for Doomed Youth being transferred to Soho Theatre for a run Jan/Feb 2018.
In addition to being a comedian, Ed also has extensive acting credits including roles in Wasted (E4), Daniel Audritt’s award-winning short The Proposal, another short film Daze and an Italian Mentos advert. He has also written for BBC Radio 4’s Newsjack. You can often see him in shorts for Comedy Central and BBC3. He is also the star of BBC Radio 1’s Ed and Lauren Get On.
