Just the Tonic at The Caves: 3rd – 26th August
As Seen On ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent 2017

Honey, he’s home! Jonny Awsum returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his new show Honey, I Promised the Kid live at Just the Tonic from the 3rd – 26th August.

Like every father, Jonny has promised his daughter the world. He’s also promised he’ll play live on stage at the O2 – but it wasn’t as easy as he’d hoped.  Did he do it?  Come along and find out in this true laughter-packed tale of celebrity encounters, numerous dignity-sapping incidents and an incredible final twist.

Directed by double nominee and Edinburgh award winner Phil Nicol, Honey, I Promised the Kid is a hilarious and touching story told through stand-up comedy and infectious musical numbers.

Jonny making the promise to Mabel, but can he keep it?

Jonny enjoyed a sell-out run and five star reviews for his previous Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, Everything is Awsum. Since then he’s appeared on the BBC Radio 2 Arts Show, featured as a guest-presenter on Absolute Radio, performed all over the world notching up 1,000 shows as a much sought-after live performer and recorded his first album (now available on iTunes).

Most recently, Jonny Awsum appeared on ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent, performing on stage with Ant and Dec before getting unanimously voted through by all four judges. Simon Cowell said, “It was so smart. The musical thing really works for you because it makes you stand out – I like you a lot”, David Walliams said the performance was “brilliantly inventive and you couldn’t want for anything more”. Alisha Dixon said, “it was a polished performance” and Amanda Holden said, “it was the best ending to a show, ever”.

Jonny has also been in demand for festivals and corporate work, appearing at Henley Festival, Download, Kendall Calling, Berkofest and VetFest at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre. Jonny is proud to be the current patron of the Derby Comedy Festival.

Equally dynamic in front of a camera as he is in front of a live audience, Jonny has featured in numerous TV commercials for brands including Cravendale, EDF, The Post Office and VW. His latest ad for Samsung saw him cast alongside Game of Thrones’ Kristian Nairn.
