Berk’s Nest in Association with Troika Presents
Cowgatehead: 6th – 28th August
Mark Smith returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a brand new show Old Smudge, and Lord have mercy is he excited! He will be performing at the Cowgatehead from the 6th to the 28th August at 5.30pm.
Within Old Smudge, Mark will be exploring the idea of faking it in life and how most of us are pretending we know what is going on. Some of us (estate agents) are better at it than others (comedians) but really we are all just waiting to get found out. Expect to hear him cram as many funny, stupid and potentially dangerous observations into the show as possible on topics as diverse as bowling, going bowling, and do you like bowling? There’s also a couple of dick jokes. In a nutshell then, something for everyone.
Mark has previously appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News and Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment on BBC Three and as a presenter on MTV. He has recently finished filming Mark Smith vs The People, an online comedy show with Turtle Canyon, starring Lolly Adefope, Adam Hess and Rhys James plus launched a new webseries called The Singing Teacher, with Tiger Aspect, which was co-written by Lloyd Griffith. Mark was a finalist in the 2009 So You Think You’re Funny competition, has gigged all over the UK and abroad, as well as supporting comedians such as Russell Kane on tour.
